| The serving table goes back in one form or another to the 16th century, simple in style, just boards on which to place food. By the late 17th century in to the 18th century it had taken on a baroque heavy feel, with in most cases a marble top. By mid 18th century the light rococo feel had taken over, into George III the neoclassic clean look, drawers with square tapered legs became fashionable. |
